Although I'm not a resident of the Stockton area, I've received previous copies of the 'CV Drum,' and I appreciate the publication's focus on highlighting the achievements of people living in the community, as well as giving readers quality feature articles of life in your part of the world. The Drum's attention on positive, successful African Americans, and business and cultural activites is refreshing, and very enjoyable!

Although there are publications with an African American focus, the CV Drum News captures the pure essence of our existence. This is a phenomenal resource that should be enjoyed by not only African Americans, but other races as well. Thank you for your efforts Dr. Hilton.

I am so happy to have found the CV Drum. This is a place where we can read about stories that other news sources let fall by the wind. Love the photography and relevant information found here.

I believe Education is the Most Critical Issue of the 21st Century. That is why I am running for California State Superintendent of Public Instruction 2010. Please visit my website at www.ronaldhickey.org and support me in overhauling the education system in California. California needs real accountability, real reform, and real leadership in education. Please provide your opinion on what needs to happen to better education. Help me in "Redefining Excellence in Education: A Vision for the 21st Century."

Keep this publication going! We need to be informed where the major media does not shed light on certain accomplishments, etc.

The print version of the CV Drum News is "a fresh African-American news antidote to San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland." My 5 & Eight Mile Road is an interactive blog that complements the print publication and also focuses on the voices of residents and issues in the great Central Valley areas of Stockton, Sacramento, Elk Grove, Davis, the Mother Lode, Tracy, Modesto, Merced and the North Valley. The name "My 5 & Eight Mile Road" comes from the fact that California Interstate-5 runs throughout California -- from the southern border to the northern border -- including through the Central Valley. And Eight Mile Road is the northern most busy exit in Stockton, the home base of the CV Drum News. We also welcome guest op-eds. The floor is open! Central 4 California: CaliC4C is a "champions blog" featuring comments and ideas from California's Central Coast and Central Valley African-American leaders and decision-makers. A champion, in an ideological sense, is a visionary advocate who may make a strong case or take on responsibility for publicizing a person, place, project or thing. There are many positive persons, places, projects and things that Central Coast and Central Valley African-Americans leaders are proud to champion. There are hundreds of great California Central Coast & Central Valley cities, towns and organizations. To name a few cities and towns; (CC) Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, Oxnard, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Seaside, and Ventura; (CV) Bakersfield, Chico, Davis, Fresno, Hanford, Merced, Redding, Sacramento, Stockton, and Suisun City. CaliC4C is an important component of communication.information, which is blog central for INVR Standards / HHEW. Archives
